The company was established with a clear purpose: to drive inclusive economic participation, job creation, and infrastructure development, with a strong focus on empowering local communities.
Founded and led by Mr. Alridge Plaatjies, a young entrepreneur from a previously disadvantaged background, the company exists to bridge the gap between opportunity and access—particularly for local SMMEs and skilled labour seeking entry into the mining and infrastructure sectors.
As the sole Director, Mr. Plaatjies brings a hands-on, results-driven leadership approach focused on growth, accountability, compliance, and community upliftment. We operate under the core business belief that sustainable infrastructure development is only possible through direct local employment.

During its high-growth periods, KIS demonstrated consistent operational scale, achieving monthly turnovers ranging between R250,000 and R600,000 as a key local contractor for municipal maintenance projects. The scope of work executed under this mentorship includes mining shutdown maintenance, hydraulic installations, slurry pump maintenance, pipeline construction, and civil works.
A key strategic advantage of our company is the active guidance of Mr. Alistair Plaatjies, who is the brother and mentor of the Director.
With over 12 years of industry experience across mining operations, engineering services, and municipal infrastructure projects, his involvement provides technical oversight, strategic direction, operational insight, and access to established networks, securing our execution capability.
Recently, Plaatjies Projects & Services has established a strong working relationship with Gamagara Local Municipality. We have successfully delivered consumable goods, including cleaning materials and general supply items, in response to issued Requests for Quotations (RFQs).
This engagement marks the beginning of an ongoing supplier relationship, with our team actively participating in additional RFQs currently in the pipeline to demonstrate our capability, compliance, and capacity.
